Bobbi Thompson

Fort Myers, Florida office and provides a diverse aviation background.
During her career in aviation, Bobbi has been the Owner and President of a
multi-base FBO, the Director of Airports for a system of five airports, the
Airport Manager of another general aviation facility, Project Manager for a
series of environmental audits for the FAA, and a world record-holding
pilot.
From 1978 to 1989,
Bobbi served as the President of Aviation Sales, Inc., a 55-employee fixed
base operation with two locations in Dayton, Ohio. The primary
location was located on the international airport, while the second was
situated on the City's general aviation reliever airport. During this
period, Bobbi was also required to serve in the capacity of Airport Manager
at the reliever airport.
As
COMARCO's
Director of Airports for the Los Angeles County-owned airports, Bobbi's
responsibilities included hiring, training, and supervising Airport
Managers; rate-setting and enforcement; budget development; tenant
relations; policy development and implementation; business development;
lease development and negotiations; community interaction; FAA grant
assurance compliance; construction management; and contract negotiations.
Subsequent to her stint with
COMARCO, Bobbi was selected as the Project Manager responsible for
conducting environmental audits on various airports across the United States
under a multi-year contract with the FAA’s Washington, DC Headquarters.
In fact, through this project and other consulting assignments, Bobbi has
completed project work on over 1,300 airports across the country.
Over the past several years, Bobbi
has had numerous articles
published on such topics as
airport privatization, contract management and Minimum Standards, and
completed a presentation on airport privatization at the InterAirport Europe
Conference in Munich, Germany in September, 1999,
as well as AAAE's International Conference in Marrakech, Morocco in
September 2002. In addition, she is a regular contributor to Airport
Business magazine on the topics of Minimum Standards and Exclusive
Rights.
Bobbi is a
former Board member for the
National Air Transportation Association,
a member of their Airports Committee,
and a member of the
American Association of Airport Executives
Non-Hub/General Aviation Committee.
Consequently,
Bobbi's diverse experience in virtually all aspects of general aviation is
virtually unmatched in the aviation industry. As such, Bobbi brings a
variety of personal experiences and observations to ABS' projects, which
assists in thinking "outside the box", as well as understanding what works
and what doesn't.
